Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL): MSN

Prepare to become an advanced practice nurse who can significantly impact the profession as a leader while remaining in direct patient care. The CNL, a leadership role for nurses in the clinical environment, is a position dedicated to improving quality of care by identifying and delivering evidence-based practice.

Nurse Practitioner: MSN

Registered nurses with a BSN who wish to become certified to practice as a nurse practitioner choose from one of three options leading to an MSN: family nurse practitioner, adult/gerontological nurse practitioner, or neonatal nurse practitioner.

Nurse Practitioner: Post-Master’s Certificates

These certificate programs are designed for nurses with an MSN who wish to become certified to practice as a family nurse practitioner or as an adult/gerontological nurse practitioner. Options are available for nurses with and without prior certification as a nurse practitioner.

Nurse Practitioner: RN Bridge to the MSN

This program is designed for registered nurses who have a bachelor’s degree in a discipline other than nursing and wish to bridge into the MSN program in order to become certified as a family nurse practitioner or an adult/gerontological nurse practitioner.

School Nurse: Certificates and MSN

Registered nurses with a BSN who wish to practice nursing in a school setting pursue one of two certificate programs: instructional or non-instructional. Nurses who wish to build skills in providing evidence-based care within the school setting pursue the MSN.

Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)

Graduates of our MSN program meet essential requirements for most post-master’s DNP programs. Students are encouraged to apply to the program at Rutgers’ School of Nursing, under an articulation agreement between TCNJ and Rutgers.

Master of Public Health

The Master of Public Health degree requires 45 academic credits (approximately 14 courses, including capstone internship). The program is designed to be completed in two years with full-time study, or four to five years with part-time study of two courses per semester. An MPH degree can also be completed with the 4 + 1 option, in which students with a BS or BA degree in a relevant discipline take additional courses toward MPH prerequisites.

Master of Business Administration/Master of Public Health

Our two-year joint MBA/MPH program combines an MBA specializing in business analytics with an MPH focusing on either epidemiology and health analytics or health communication.

Certificates

Health and Wellness Graduate Certificate

The Health and Wellness Graduate Certificate was created to support and prepare individuals to make important health decisions that will optimize overall health and well-being through education, health promotion, coach instruction, and practical integrated experiences.

Public Health Certificate

This certificate program is designed for those who wish to develop a broad, interdisciplinary understanding of critical components in public and population health and is appropriate for both working professionals and students preparing for graduate study.

Nurse Educator Certificate

This blended certificate program prepares nurses to teach in classrooms, educate online, or drive change in hospitals and health systems in the community. Our program provides students to develop an understanding of how technology, assessment, and academic supports facilitate student progress and improve instruction.
